About Christine Farrell

Christine Farrell has consulted to a very wide variety of public and private sector clients in Australia, the UK, Europe and the USA.and has over 30 years experience as an assessment and selection expert.

She returned to Australia to establish her own consultancy practise in 2000, following 20 years of highly successful international consultancy experience.

Since her return she has also held a part time appointment as an Adjunct Professor in Organisational Psychology at the ANU where she has shared her extensive practitioner experience with Masters and PhD students.

While overseas Christine held senior HR positions in the computer and oil industries and for 5 years was Director of the Tailored Corporate Programmes Division of Henley Business School. The Henley MBA was ranked in the Top 10 in the world in the 2007 Economist MBA Rankings.

She was a Director on the management team of SHL (UK) - SHL is one of the world leaders in objective assessment in the workplace - where she worked for 6 years with Professor Peter Saville, including during the flotation of SHL on the London Stock Exchange.

Christine also held a part time post as a Visiting Professor in Business Studies at the University of Surrey, Roehampton where she specialised in teaching consultancy skills to post graduate students. Throughout this period Christine consulted to a wide variety of clients from many different industry sectors.

Her early career saw her work initially as a Psychologist for the Australian Public Service in the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. She left the APS in 1978 to join ICL Fujitsu, Britain's largest computer company, as an internal consultant on people and organisation. The success of her work with the Australian subsidiary lead to an invitation to work internationally out of their London headquarters.

As an expert in the field of assessment and development, Christine has presented papers at the annual conferences of the British Recruitment Society, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, the British Psychological Society, the Australian Industrial and Organisational Psychology Conference and at Annual Conferences of the International Congress on the Assessment Centre Method. She has been a major contributor to the practical application of Psychological Testing and Assessment Centre Technology for 30 years.

As one of the pioneers in the use of 360 feedbacks, she drafted the Professional Guidelines on the use of 360 feedback published by the UK Department of Trade and Industry and the British Psychological Society and was the developer of numerous 360 feedback instruments published by SHL.

Christine is currently a member of the Australian Psychological Society and was formerly an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and member of the Human Resource Planning Society of the USA.

In her private life Christine holds a Commercial Helicopter Pilot's Licence and is a CASA approved Chief Pilot.
